Our Services: Children

Intake

The initial meeting is with the parent only. In this meeting the parent will share current concerns and intended outcomes with clinician while providing a history of the child as well as themselves.

This clinician has a relationship first approach to children’s therapy. The relationship with the caregiver is used as the primary catalyst for change. If you have questions about this approach, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Following sessions

Are sessions focused on meeting with the parent or caregiver. These initial meetings are designed to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the challenges that may be preventing meaningful change for your child. During these sessions, the clinician will:

  • Build a thorough understanding of the barriers impacting your child’s progress.

  • Provide support tailored to your needs as a caregiver.

  • Focus on psychoeducation, stress management, and coping strategies.

  • Explore past approaches that have worked and discuss why they were effective.

Once a strong foundation of coping resources and support has been established with the caregiver, the clinician will schedule a session with the child. Whenever possible, the parent or caregiver remains actively involved in the child’s session to reinforce the caregiver-child connection as a central focus of therapy.

This collaborative, relationship-centered approach prioritizes the caregiver-child bond while equipping caregivers with tools to support their child’s growth. Through this method, the clinician has found it to be one of the most effective strategies for fostering lasting, positive change.
